Report: Everton agree £45m deal to sign Gylfi Sigurdsson
Everton have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Swansea City midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson for a fee believed to be about £45m.
The 27-year-old claimed nine goals and 13 assists in the Premier League last season, and has been linked with a switch to Goodison Park all summer.
With talks ongoing as of the start of the Premier League season, Swans boss Paul Clement decided not to include the Iceland international in his squad for the club’s goalless draw at Southampton.
According to Sky Sports News, a deal has now been agreed between the two clubs, with Sigurdsson expected on Merseyside on Tuesday evening and set to undergo a medical on Wednesday.
The deal would take Everton’s summer spending to £131m after the signings of Jordan Pickford, Michael Keane and Davy Klaassen, with Wayne Rooney also joining on a free transfer.
