Arsenal’s Petr Cech ruled out for up to a month
Arsenal have announced that goalkeeper Petr Cech will miss between three and four weeks with a hamstring injury.
The 36-year-old, who had previously been ever-present in the Premier League this term, limped off just before halftime in the Gunners’ 2-0 win over Watford on Saturday afternoon.
Cech underwent a scan on Tuesday and it was confirmed that the former Czech Republic international is facing around a month on the sidelines, ruling him out of games with Qarabag, Fulham, Leicester City, Sporting Lisbon and Crystal Palace.
Bernd Leno will now take over between the sticks, having been made to rely on cup competitions for his only other minutes prior to Cech’s injury at the weekend.
Arsenal have also revealed that Emile Smith Rowe is back in contention after picking up a knock against Brentford, while club captain Laurent Koscielny is on track for a return to training in November.
