Man City close in on Espanyol teen Oscar Tarensi
Manchester City are reportedly on the verge of signing teenage winger Oscar Tarensi from Espanyol for a small compensation fee.
The 16-year-old, who can play on the left of midfield or at left-back, is believed to be available for £260,000.
Tarensi has caught the eye with his performances in Espanyol’s B team and, according to Spanish radio station Onda Cero, City wanted to add him to their own youth setup in January.
Espanyol played hardball, though, and they have now secured a slightly better financial package that will also include various performance-related add-ons.
City, who already have fellow Spanish youngsters Eric Garcia and Iker Pozo in their youth system, supposedly hope to have a deal in place for Tarensi in the coming days.
