Liverpool join race to sign Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey?
Liverpool are reportedly preparing to challenge Manchester United for the signature of Norwich City defender Ben Godfrey.
Godfrey’s performances during Norwich’s Championship promotion push are understood to have attracted attention from some of the Premier League’s biggest clubs ahead of the summer transfer window.
United had been linked with a £10m bid for the 21-year-old, but Football Insider claims that Liverpool are also now in the running for his signature.
The Reds have scouted Godfrey on numerous occasions since he broke into the first team in December and have been impressed by what they have seen from the England Under-20 international.
Godfrey has gone on to make 23 Championship appearances this season, scoring three goals and creating two more to help the Canaries rise to the top of the table.
Norwich are reportedly reluctant to lose the defender regardless of whether they win promotion back to the Premier League this season.
