Chelsea eyeing move for Borussia Monchengladbach’s Jonas Hofmann
Chelsea are reportedly interested in bringing Borussia Monchengladbach winger Jonas Hofmann to Stamford Bridge.
The 28-year-old has enjoyed an impressive season with Gladbach this term, finding the back of the net on 6 occasions in all competitions, in addition to contributing 12 assists in 15 Bundesliga appearances.
However, with manager Marco Rose confirmed to be leaving for Borussia Dortmund ahead of next season, the futures of Monchengladbach’s key players are suddenly shrouded in doubt.
Hofmann could be on his way out, according to Bild, and the German international is understood to be a transfer target for the Blues.
He worked under the current Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel during their time at the Westfalenstadion, and the report suggests that contact has already been made between the two parties ahead of a potential summer move.
Hofmann has a contract at Monchengladbach until 2023.
