Manchester United eyeing up move for Ibrahima Konate

Manchester United are lining up a swoop for RB Leipzig centre-back Ibrahima Konate, according to The Independent.

The Red Devils are interested in a potential swoop to sign the France Under-21 international in the 2021 summer transfer window.

The aforementioned report claims that the Mancunian giants want to sign a new full-back in the summer to pair up with Harry Maguire.

United had previously earmarked Konate’s team-mate Dayot Upamecano as a potential signing but the Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich are in pole position to sign the France international.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side consider Konate an “increasingly attractive” proposition following his impressive performances in the German top flight.

The report goes on to claim that United could face fierce competition from their league rivals Chelsea and Liverpool for the 21-year-old defender.

Konate has scored three goals in 75 appearances in all competitions for RB Leipzig over the last four years.
