Burnley identify Nick Pope replacement?

Burnley have reportedly identified Sheffield United goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale as a possible replacement for Nick Pope, should the 29-year-old leave Turf Moor this summer, according to The Sun.

Pope has been a standout performer for the Clarets this season and is attracting interest from a number of Premier League clubs.

The England international is also set to be named in the upcoming Euro 2020 tournament squad and will compete with Jordan Pickford for a place in the starting lineup.

Burnley value Pope at around £45m and they would look to sign Ramsdale for half that price.

The report claims that Sean Dyche’s side are weighing up the option to re-sign Tom Heaton from Aston Villa, although he is being monitored by Manchester United.

Ramsdale only joined the Blades last summer, but the 22-year-old could be persuaded to stay in the top flight with a move to Turf Moor.

The England Under-21 international has started in all 34 Premier League appearances this season.
