Sevilla to explore January move for Edinson Cavani
Sevilla have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani at the start of 2022.
Due to injury, the 34-year-old has been restricted to just eight appearances for the Red Devils this season, scoring just once.
Cavani’s current contract at Old Trafford is due to expire next June, and it is unlikely that the experienced striker will commit his future to the Mancunian giants beyond this season.
A number of clubs continue to be linked with the Uruguay international, but according to Fichajes, Sevilla are weighing up a January move.
The Andalusian outfit will be free to talk to the South American over a pre-contract at the beginning of 2022, but Julen Lopetegui’s side are allegedly keen to agree a fee with United to allow him to arrive in the middle of the ongoing campaign.
Cavani has scored 18 goals and registered six assists in 47 appearances for Manchester United in all competitions.
