Man United eye January move for Jordan Pickford

Manchester United have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing Everton number one Jordan Pickford as their ideal successor to David de Gea – who has less than a year left on his Old Trafford contract.

The Red Devils can trigger an extension in the Spaniard’s contract to retain his services until 2024, but the Premier League giants are reportedly yet to decide whether to keep the shot-stopper around.

A report from The Telegraph – via Metro – indicates that the 20-time English champions are potentially willing to allow De Gea to walk out of the door next summer.

The aforementioned report adds that Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford has emerged as a potential transfer target.

Pickford, 28, has spent the last five years at Goodison Park and has kept 55 clean sheets in 205 appearances for the Toffees in that time.

The England international possesses a contract until the summer of 2024.

While Man United are well stocked for options between the sticks in the form of De Gea, Martin Dubravka and Tom Heaton, while Dean Henderson is set to return from his loan spell at Nottingham Forest next summer.
