Manchester United’s Joe Hugill Signs New Deal Until 2026

Manchester United’s young talent, Joe Hugill has secured a new contract with the club. The 19-year-old striker, who joined the Red Devils in October 2020 from Sunderland’s youth academy, has impressed with his development.

Hugill began with the Under-18 team and recently made strides in the Under-21 setup. A loan spell at Altrincham in the National League saw him score once in seven appearances.

United’s manager Erik ten Hag took notice of Hugill’s potential during the pre-season tour in the United States, earning him a place in the first-team squad. In the current season, Hugill has showcased his skills in Premier League 2, contributing to four goals across four games in all competitions.

With his previous contract set to expire next summer, Manchester United were keen to retain Hugill’s services. Fortunately, negotiations have resulted in a new deal that extends his stay until 2026. This move is strategic for the club as they seek to bolster their attacking options due to injury concerns with other forwards like Rasmus Hojlund and Anthony Martial.

Joe Hugill’s rapid progress suggests he may soon feature prominently in the Red Devils’ first team, providing Manchester United with a promising homegrown talent for the future.
