Chelsea attacker Angelo Gabriel joins Al-Nassr

Chelsea’s youth talent Angelo Gabriel is set to depart for Al-Nassr in a deal worth £19.4 million, marking another significant move in the Saudi Pro League’s aggressive recruitment drive. The 19-year-old Brazilian winger joined Chelsea from Santos last year for £13 million, but after a mixed spell on loan at Strasbourg, where he failed to find the back of the net in 24 appearances, the decision has been made to cash in.

Gabriel’s potential was evident during Chelsea’s pre-season tour in the United States, but with competition for places fierce at Stamford Bridge, a move to the Middle East presents an opportunity for regular first-team action. Al-Nassr’s willingness to trigger his release clause highlights their intent to continue strengthening their squad with young, promising talent.

Interestingly, while Angelo Gabriel is heading out, Carney Chukwuemeka and Cesare Casadei, both previously rumoured to be on the move, are now expected to stay and fight for their spots in Chelsea’s first team. This decision could see Chelsea re-enter the transfer market in January, with further departures likely depending on squad needs and performances in the coming months.

As the Saudi transfer deadline looms tonight, Gabriel is expected to finalise his move swiftly, adding another chapter to the ever-evolving story of Chelsea’s transfer dealings
