Tottenham Hotspur launch £70 million bid for Real Madrid star Rodrygo Goes
Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly tabled a £70 million offer to sign Real Madrid forward Rodrygo Goes, as Thomas Frank looks to strengthen his attacking options ahead of the second half of the season.
Spurs ready to back Thomas Frank
Under Thomas Frank, Spurs’ performances have been a mixed bag so far. The North London club sit fifth in the Premier League and tenth in their Champions League group, but the Danish coach isn’t under any immediate pressure. Despite battling injuries and inconsistent form, there’s a growing belief that Tottenham are ready to fully back Frank in the transfer market—especially with Daniel Levy no longer steering the club’s day-to-day operations.

Rodrygo’s struggle for minutes in Madrid
According to Fichajes, Tottenham are keen to take advantage of Rodrygo’s situation at Real Madrid. The Brazilian forward has found himself out of favour under Xabi Alonso, playing just 359 minutes across 13 matches in all competitions this season. With Arda Guler, Brahim Díaz, and young Franco Mastantuono all ahead of him in the pecking order, Rodrygo’s opportunities have been severely limited.
The 24-year-old has also endured a frustrating spell in front of goal, scoring just once in the past eight months. A January move could help him rediscover form and secure a spot in Brazil’s squad ahead of next summer’s FIFA World Cup.
Tottenham could offer Rodrygo a new chapter
While it remains uncertain whether Real Madrid will sanction his departure mid-season—especially with the Copa del Rey kicking off in January—Tottenham could be in a strong position if Los Blancos are open to negotiations.
Unlike Arsenal or Liverpool, who may hold off on big spending until next summer, Spurs are prepared to move quickly. They can offer Rodrygo a guaranteed starting role and a central place in a young, ambitious team pushing to return to Europe’s elite.
Although Real Madrid valued the winger at around £85 million last summer, Tottenham’s £70 million bid could be enough to tempt the Spanish giants given his limited playing time this campaign.
