Manchester City sign Julian Alvarez from River Plate
Manchester City have confirmed the signing of Julian Alvarez from River Plate.
The 22-year-old has signed a five-and-a-half-year deal with the Premier League champions for a fee reported to be worth around €17m plus €1.5m in add-ons.
The Citizens have confirmed that the Argentine will remain with River Plate on loan “at least until July 2022”.
Alvarez is regarded as one of the hottest prospects in South American football after an impressive 2021 campaign for the club, contributing 24 goals and 15 assists in 46 appearances across all competitions.
