Arsenal have emerged as rumoured suitors for Aston Villa central midfielder Douglas Luiz.
The 23-year-old has once again been one of Villa’s standout performers in an impressive season, making a total of 18 appearances in all competitions this term.
However, despite having less than one and a half year remaining on his contract, the Midlands outfit have suggested that discussions regarding new terms are yet to begin.
According to the Evening Standard, the Gunners may now look to take advantage as they bid to sign a new midfielder before next Monday’s 11pm deadline.
The north Londoners are seemingly set to miss out on Lyon’s Bruno Guimaraes, who is set to join Newcastle United over the coming days.
