Done Deal: Andreas Christensen joins Barcelona
Barcelona have confirmed the free transfer of defender Andreas Christensen.
Earlier, it has been reported that the former Chelsea man had agreed to move to Catalonia upon the expiration of his contract at Stamford Bridge.
However, despite no transfer fee being involved, the Blaugrana have been required to ease their financial issues before confirming the acquisition of the 26-year-old defender.
The Catalan giants have now followed suit by formally announcing that the Denmark international has become a Barca player on a contract until 2026.
Barcelona have also revealed that the centre-back will have a release clause of €500m (£430.22m) in his deal.
Xavi’s side are also said to be looking to acquire more players from Chelsea with Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso both being linked with a transfer.
