Man City lead race to sign Nelson Semedo
Manchester City have reportedly taken the lead in the race to sign Barcelona right-back Nelson Semedo.
Since the arrival of Joao Cancelo to the Etihad Stadium last summer, the Portugal international has failed to hold down a regular spot in the first team.
Similarly, Barcelona are willing to offload Semedo as they look to push their pursuit of Lautaro Martinez, although the Spanish champions have reportedly seen an opening bid for the Argentine rejected by Inter Milan.
According to Sport, a number of clubs across Europe including Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in Barca’s Nelson Semedo but the Premier League champions are currently regarded as the overwhelming favourites to land his services.
However, the report also claims that the two sides are yet to reach an agreement for the Portuguese, and it remains unclear whether Cancelo would be included as part of a deal.
Semedo has a deal at Camp Nou until 2022.
