Leeds United join race to sign Barcelona midfielder Riqui Puig

Leeds United have reportedly expressed an interest in making an audacious move for Barcelona starlet Riqui Puig on loan during the January transfer window.

The 21-year-old midfielder has only made two first-team appearances for Barca during the 2020-21 campaign, while the Spaniard has played just 25 minutes of La Liga football this term.

A recent report claimed that Puig was not in Ronald Koeman’s s plans moving forward and could leave the Catalan giants when the transfer window opens in January.

According to Sport, Puig’s agent has made contact with Leeds over the possibility of a potential loan move to the Yorkshire giants.

The report, though, claims that RB Leipzig, Real Betis and AS Monaco are also said to be keen on the player and could battle the Whites for his signature at the turn of the year.

Puig has made three assists in 17 first-team appearances for Barcelona.
