Aston Villa interested in Southampton’s James Ward-Prowse
Aston Villa have reportedly expressed an interest in making an audacious move for Southampton midfielder James Ward-Prowse.
The 26-year-old midfielder played every minute for Ralph Hasenhuttl’s side this term.
Villans have confirmed that they have agreed a club-record deal with Norwich City’s Emiliano Buendia, but manager Dean Smith is keen to bolster his squad further to improve Villa’s goalscoring statistics.
It is reported that Liverpool are also interested in signing the England international, who missed out on a place for the Euros this summer.
Ward-Prowse has scored 33 goals and provided 40 assists in 322 appearances for the Saints since making his first-term debut in 2011.
