Silva’s current contract with the west London outfit is set to expire at the end of this season, but the proposed new agreement will see the centre-back stay with the club until 2023.
The Champions League holders are looking to defend their title in the new year, and the Brazilian is likely to reach 100 appearances in that competition during his remaining time in London, having played 93 games in the Champions League across his 13-year career so far.
Silva has scored four goals in 52 appearances for the Blues since arriving from Paris Saint-Germain on a free transfer.
