Samu Aghehowa on Chelsea’s radar
Chelsea are reportedly ramping up their interest in FC Porto’s red-hot striker Samu Aghehowa, with the Blues looking to finally land a clinical finisher for Liam Rosenior’s project at Stamford Bridge.
The 21-year-old Spanish forward has been absolutely sensational since his move to Portugal, bagging an eye-watering 45 goals in just 76 appearances for Porto. This season alone, he’s already notched 20 goals from 31 outings as Francesco Farioli’s side top the Portuguese league.

According to TEAMtalk, Chelsea’s interest isn’t new—they tried securing Aghehowa back in summer 2024 before he joined the Dragões. Now, with his stock rising exponentially, the West London outfit have intensified their scouting efforts and are seriously considering a summer swoop.
The Competition Heats Up
Chelsea won’t have a clear run at the 6ft 3in powerhouse, though. Both Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are circling, while Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez remains another option on Rosenior’s radar.
The stumbling block? Porto’s hefty £86m valuation according to Transfermarkt—a significant outlay given Chelsea already boast attacking options including incoming signings Emanuel Emegha and Dastan Satpaev, plus current forwards Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, and Marc Guiu.
However, none possess Aghehowa’s proven goalscoring pedigree. With back-to-back 20+ goal seasons under his belt, the Spanish marksman offers something Chelsea desperately need: ruthless finishing.
Whether the Blues pull the trigger on such a substantial fee remains to be seen, but one thing’s certain—Aghehowa’s remarkable form has made him one of Europe’s most wanted strikers.
