Arsenal interested in signing Wesley Fofana
Arsenal have reportedly expressed an interest in making an audacious move for Saint-Etienne centre-back Wesley Fofana, according to The Daily Express, via Metro.
The Gunners are interested in a potential swoop to sign the 19-year-old defender when the summer window eventually opens.
The report states that the North Londoners noticed the teenager while keeping eyes on their new recruit William Saliba throughout the 2019-20 Ligue 1 season.
Saint-Etienne could be tempted to sell Fofana given the financial situation that the French club are facing after narrowly avoiding relegation to the league second tier.
Mikel Arteta’s side agreed a £27million deal to sign Saliba last summer before the Premier League giants loaned the Frenchman back to the Ligue 1 outfit for the current campaign.
Fofana has made 14 appearances for Saint-Etienne this term.
