Liverpool want Real Madrid centre-back Eder Militao?

Liverpool have reportedly “explored” the possibility of signing out-of-favour Real Madrid centre-back Eder Militao.

The Reds have had to cope without their two first-choice centre-half for a majority of the season so far, with Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez both suffering injuries.

The Premier League champions have nonetheless managed to climb back to the top of the table, and Spanish outlet Todofichajes claims that they could be looking to strengthen their options in the January transfer window.

The report adds that the Brazilian Militao is one of the players on Liverpool’s radar, having only made two top flight appearances for Madrid.

Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane is reluctant to lose a defensive option at the midway point of the campaign but would sanction an exit if the Spanish champions bring in David Alaba from Bayern Munich.

The report goes on to claim that Liverpool are close to completing a deal for free agent Ezequiel Garay.
