Real Sociedad considering January move for Juan Mata
Real Sociedad have reportedly identified Manchester United outcast Juan Mata as a potential January signing.
The 33-year-old attacker has not played a single minute of Premier League football during the 2021-22 campaign, with two of his three matches coming in the Champions League.
He possesses a contract until next June, and there has been speculation surrounding his future ahead of the winter transfer window.
According to The Sun, the La Liga giants are hoping to persuade the Red Devils to let the Spaniard leave on a free transfer at the turn of the year.
The report adds that the Basque club’s boss Imanol Alguacil wants Mata’s ‘big-time experience’ to help them push for a top-four finish this season.
Mata came through the youth system at Real Madrid before representing Valencia for four years ahead of a move to Chelsea.
