Chelsea join race to sign Andreas Pereira?
Chelsea have allegedly earmarked Fulham midfielder Andreas Pereira as a potential replacement for Mason Mount.
The future of Mount is a subject of constant debate as his contract will expire in less than 18 months. It appears that the playmaker will be allowed to leave Stamford Bridge.
A recent report stated that the Brazil international has signed with a new agent to secure the best possible move for himself in the summer since contract negotiations with the Blues have stalled.
While there is still a chance for negotiations at the end of the season, the West Londoners are naturally exploring other options.
Chelsea officials have been impressed by Pereira’s development during his time at Craven Cottage, as per ESPN.
Pereira has started in all of Fulham’s 27 matches in the top flight, scoring twice and providing six assists to establish himself as a key player.
The Cottagers are looking to secure European football for next season and will naturally want to retain Pereira’s services in the summer. However, Chelsea are reportedly one of several top European clubs interested in signing the Brazilian, who still has over three years left on his contract.
PSG and Atletico Madrid are also monitoring the situation as they consider refreshing their squads.
