Arsenal plotting summer move for Sergej Milinkovic-Savic

Arsenal have reportedly set their sights on a deal for Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic ahead of next season.

The Gunners are interested in signing the Serbia international before the start of the next season, as per Gazzetta Dello Sport via Sport Witness.

The North Londoners have had their eyes on the 28-year-old midfielder for some time and see an opportunity to make a move for him.

Milinkovic-Savic has been regular for Lazio since his arrival from KRC Genk in 2015. During his eight years at the club, he has made over 320 appearances, contributing to more than 120 goals.

He has been a top performer for the Italian outfit and is attracting interest from the Premier League leaders.

Despite being a crucial player for Lazio for several years, it appears that the Serbian’s time with the club may be coming to an end this summer. While Lazio has always been firm about keeping the midfielder, they may have to let him go soon.

With Milinkovic-Savic’s contract set to expire in 2024 and his unwillingness to sign a new deal, the club has no choice but to sell him this summer.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is particularly interested in bolstering his midfield options and has targeted Sergej Milinkovic-Savic to provide more depth in that area.

While the Premier League leaders have not disclosed how much they are willing to spend on the midfielder, the discounted price being offered by Lazio may give them hope of securing his services in the summer.
