Inter Milan to rival Man United for Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen?

Inter Milan have reportedly entered the race to sign Tottenham Hotspur playmaker Christian Eriksen when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Eriksen is one of the most coveted free agents on the market after talks over a renewal at Spurs broke down, with a number of Europe’s biggest clubs understood to be keeping tabs on his situation.

Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus have all been credited with an interest in the Dane, who is keen to leave Spurs for a new challenge.

The Daily Mail reports that Inter have now joined that list, although they would prefer to wait until the summer rather than meet Tottenham’s £25m asking price to sign him in January.

Eriksen is now free to talk to foreign clubs over a possible move with less than six months remaining on his contract, which could give Inter, PSG and Juventus an edge over Manchester United in negotiations.

The uncertainty over the 27-year-old’s future means that he has only started nine Premier League games this season, but he has been a key figure for the majority of his six-and-a-half years at Tottenham.
