Swansea City lead race for Rhian Brewster?

Swansea City are reportedly leading the race to sign promising young Liverpool striker Rhian Brewster on loan in January.

The Reds are keen to get the 19-year-old some valuable first-team experience between now and the end of the season, and Jurgen Klopp’s side are believed to have a preferred destination in mind after analysing all the respective offers currently on the table.

While the Swans are still thought to be in pole position to sign Brewster, WalesOnline reports that the striker is yet to make up his mind, with offers also forthcoming from Huddersfield Town, Sheffield Wednesday and Leeds United.

Swansea boss Steve Cooper is a known admirer of the forward, having worked with him during England’s Under-17 World Cup win, and it is believed that their past relationship could make all the difference as negotiations progress.

Should a deal not be completed by the early part of the weekend, Brewster is expected to feature in Liverpool’s FA Cup third-round game with local rivals Everton on Sunday.
