Report – Celtic close in on deal for Vasilis Barkas
The Scottish champions Celtic are on the verge of signing Greece international goalkeeper Vasilis Barkas.
Reports in Greece suggest that the Hoops have agreed to pay AEK Athens around £4.5m for the 26-year-old stopper, who has made 111 appearances for the Greek outfit.
Barkas is reportedly the subject of interest from the Bhoys this summer but have been told they’ll have to pay £5m for his signature.
The Greece international would certainly be an ideal addition to Neil Lennon’s side as his hunt for a shot-stopper goes on.
The deal is believed to be worth more than £4m plus add-ons.
