Newcastle United plot summer move for £35m-rated Tyrone Mings?

Newcastle United have reportedly placed emphasis on signing Aston Villa centre-back Tyrone Mings in the summer transfer window.

After joining the Villans on loan from Bournemouth in January 2019, the England international helped the club achieve promotion to the Premier League.

That prompted Villa to sign the Englishman for around £20m on a permanent deal from the Cherries in the summer of 2019.

However, the Mings’ time at Villa Park could well be coming to an end according to the Mirror, who are suggesting that manager Eddie Howe wishes to bring the 29-year-old defender to St James’ Park in the summer.

The centre-back has made 103 appearances for Villa across three Premier League seasons.
