Arsenal plotting shock move for N’Golo Kante
Arsenal are preparing to launch a surprise bid to sign Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante in the 2022 summer transfer window, according to The Daily Star.
The Gunners could make a surprise swoop to sign the France international this summer.
Kante’s future at Chelsea remains unclear considering that he has just 12 months remaining on his current contract.
The report adds that the Frenchman could look to leave Chelsea this summer after the 31-year-old attacker endured a difficult 2021-22 campaign that was blighted by injury problems.
Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta is desperate to sign a new defensive midfielder to offer his back four more protection in the 2022-23 Premier League season.
The north Londoners are set to open discussions with their arch-rivals to see whether they’d be open to an offer rather than losing him for nothing next summer.
The Red Devils are also interested in the World Cup winner but the 20-time English champions are prioritising the signing of Frenkie de Jong.
