Chelsea weighing up move for Moises Caicedo

Chelsea are set to step up their pursuit of Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo.

Currently, the Blues are in the process of securing the transfer of Manuel Ugarte from Sporting, and a deal is expected to be finalised soon.

However, their interest in Caicedo remains, as he was a prime target for the Blues during the January transfer window.

Chelsea are planning a significant revamp of their midfield, with potential departures of Mateo Kovacic, N’Golo Kante, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Conor Gallagher, and Mason Mount.

The club aims to bring in at least two or three midfielders, with Ugarte as their primary target and Caicedo potentially following suit.

Brighton values Caicedo at around £80 million and they are unlikely to accept anything less for his departure.

In addition to Chelsea, Arsenal are also keen on signing Caicedo, which could lead to a fierce bidding war between the two clubs.

While Arsenal can offer Champions League football, Chelsea possesses the financial resources to entice Caicedo to join them.

It’s worth noting that Chelsea have already conducted transfer business with Brighton, having acquired Marc Cucurella from the Seagulls last summer.
