Southampton frontrunners to sign Romain Perraud
Southampton have reportedly taken the lead in the race to sign Brest defender Romain Perraud.
The 23-year-old has enjoyed an impressive 2020-21 campaign for the French side, contributing three goals and seven assists in 36 Ligue 1 appearances.
The Whites are looking to sign a new full-back as Ezgjan Alioski’s future seems to be in doubt.
The Saints have progressed into the advanced stages of finalising a deal for Perraud, who is believed to be interested in a move to St Mary’s.
Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl has already met with the Frenchman and the deal is expected to be completed in few days subject to his medical.
Perraud has scored three goals and registered eight assists in 61 matches, since arriving at Brest in 2019.
